Today I got on Weebly and familiarized myself with the site. It looks like we're going to use that for the final website, and I've never used it before! I read some tutorials and I created a poll for favorite kind of music. I think Haste has the official site, so once everyone makes a Weebly account, we're all going to link on to the official site and start really putting it all together! Hopefully we can put together a sort of outline for what should go on the website so everyone knows kind of what they can be doing with their time. The attachment is a screenshot of part of the poll I made. I looked up all the different genres of music there are, and there was more than I had anticipated! I think everything's starting to come together; I'm excited to see what everyone has to say in the later periods!

Computer Lit 3/28/14
Today in Computer Lit I posted on our group chat. I made a suggestion about creating a sample playlist. I figured if we made a sample, we could see what it would be like to share on the website that we choose. I went onto my Grooveshark account and created a Pop playlist. Basically it has a handful of songs that have been on the radio, released, or popular to students lately. I also created a Weebly.com account, now I am just waiting to be shared in as a collaborator by my group members.

Progress Report 3/21 Ashtyn
I went ahead and worked on the website on Yola. We want our users to be able to make a profile where they write about their music interests and tastes. Truthfully, I couldn't find a way to do that on Yola. I got an email back from Yola, in response to the one Peyton and Haste sent. I'm not really sure if the reply had anything to do with the one that was sent to Yola. Basically, we were back at square one with Yola. Earlier this week, I had told the group about mixxxt.com and it was ruled out, but I know users can make profiles and join a network through there. I went ahead and created a site on it, and it seems a little better and suits our idea better than Yola, but I still don't think it was what we were looking for. At this point, I'm feeling like we're a little behind, but once we find the perfect website, I think it will be quick and smooth from there. The attached pictures is the reply from Yola.

Today in class I looked at Yola.com, because thats what it sounds like we will use as our website. Then I focused on the Grooveshark website. I tried it in study hall yesterday, without an account. I think it seems pretty cool, so I created an account. After that I looked at how to share playlists with friends. You can also share to other social media sites you might have. I read over the group chat, hoping that someone would respond to my post. I was wondering if there was something more that I could do.
Morgan's blog report 3/21
I didn't really get much done. I'm kinda confused. I read through our group chat to see what was new. I'm going to look everything over and see if I can understand it more. I did create a http://grooveshark.com/ account.

In the my group, some people want to create a website and some people want to create it on Grooveshark to create playlists. My option is to use the Grooveshark to create a playlist. Peyton said he doesn't understand how Grooveshark works to share with people, but I don't know which way to share with people that Peyton is talking about. I figured out one way to share to people, but it is just a link. You can share on the Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Grooveshark's friends. Right now, I don't get what I'm doing because I don't know what they want to create on the website or on the Grooveshark to create the playlist. I also went to the Yola.com site see how it created the website but I really don't understand how it works.
I will show the picture how to share with people
Jacob Blog Report 3/21/14
Today I created an account on grooveshark.com and was able to start a playlist. The site looked easy to use so we should have no problem operating it. I also tried out other sites that were suggested to use for making playlists but they didn't seem as easy to use to I went with the easiest site so we can do it easily and do great at it.
Brandis blog report 3/21
So I'm gonna be honest, I didn't get much done. I looked through the group chat to see if there was anything new. Most of it is new. I posted on the group chat and I asked everyone what I should be doing because I am confused at this point. I'm going to look more into things tonight at home so I can maybe understand things a little better.

3/19/14 Accounting Post
During Accounting I followed up my collaboration with my group mates by letting them know we had a rough outline of what we think our website should look like. Haste and I will try and find a way to share this rough outline drawing with our other group members. We will might try to transfer it on to a drawing sheet and see if it looks close to what we have on the piece of paper. I don't know how well this will work though because I am not used to using the drawing sheets on Google. I think if we can figure out how to share this drawing with our other group members then we will all be able to contribute to creating and editing our website.

Today Haste and I collaborated with our group members on what type of website we were thinking about making. We decided that Google Sites did not have the creative ability that we needed to create an ideal music playlist website. We looked at using Wix.com and found that we were having some troubles with how well it was loading. It would take too much time for it too load everyday. We have not yet come up with a website builder that we will use, but we will keep looking to see if we can find another website builder to use that will better fit our needs for a music playlist website. We have figured out a name of our website as well. We decided on U-Tune as our website and music playlist name. Our group is working very well together and we have yet to have any major disagreements within our group members. This is the link to our collaboration page that we will use to bounce ideas off of each other.

Today in Personal Finance, PeyRey and I disccussed possible ways we'd like to take the direction of our project. I also edited a post in the group chat (created by Ashtyn) saying “Everything is looking good so far, glad we’re all contributing to the same common idea. Yes, I think we should have a “Profile” idea that would allow users to personalize their account. I also want to know where this is being made. I’m not sure if the Google Site we are currently looking at has the creative abilities to match all of our ideas. Wix.com has some good sites to edit, but I’ve been having problems loading some their pages. If anyone can come up with something, please let me know. We should really start putting this project together. Music searching should be starting soon.” I also color coded our group chat to stay organized, and set up a system in which we can communicate instantly and stay up-to-date on what the other is saying!

Progress Report 3/19 Ashtyn
Today in General Business, I looked at the document Jackie shared that had different music playlist websites. I went through those websites to see what makes them successful. Yesterday, I made a conversation document so that our group could express their ideas and questions on a shared document that we could all see. Two other people have written on it, asking questions and stating their ideas. I went ahead and looked for some cool website creators to use! I tried looking for social media sites so that we could use Haste's idea of making a profile and have our users be part of a huge music community. I found some fishy websites, but I also found a few that might be kind of cool to use! I didn't dig very deep into the sites, but on mixxt.com you can have people make profiles. The other option we had was to use wix.com again. I also created our blog on this website and made sure everyone could finally post on it after having some troubles yesterday! I wrote the mission statement yesterday, and we're finishing revising it. Hopefully it will be posted on the blog soon!

Today in Computer Lit I looked up other music playlist sites. I took screenshots and wrote a little bit about them underneath. Then I started to fill out a chart of what some good possibilities for our site would be, and what worked well for other popular sites. The first site has 30 million users and the second has 60 million. I only worked on two of them, and just started on the chart.

Progress 3/19
Today in computer lit, I looked through emails I received from other group members. I looked through documents to see if there was any changes that I need to be a ware of. I looked through the folder at all the things that were added. I filled out the form Jacob added yesterday. I also thought about what else we could add to help the project.
3/19 Blog Report
We're creating playlists for people to listen to during the day. We will base our playlists off of the mood the person is in. We will also base it off of what the person's favorite type of music is. Haste came up with a good idea for the name so we shouldn't ave to worry about finding a name.
We made a document that our group members can go to where they can share ideas and say what they think about other people's ideas.

3/19 Progress by Brandi Winker
Today in computer lit, I looked through all my new emails and everything that I had gotten yesterday from other group members. I read all those emails and looked to see if we made any big changes from yesterday to today. I filled out the form that Jacob made yesterday in class. I thought of ideas for names for the group but I liked Hastes idea. I went through my google drive folder for the Music 20% project and looked through new things that were added. I was also thinking about questions that I have for other group members. I think we all need each others numbers so we can contact each other that way too. We could also get together one day and work on it.

Welcome
Welcome to our blog!
Our group is excited to discover what music our classmates are into. Hopefully through this project we can help others discover similar music to what they already enjoy. We might even expand our own music preferences. We plan to make a personalized playlist, based off of the users’ interests and taste. Of the project creators, the group is varied and different to help discover the right playlist for students.
