Week 4/17/14

This week our group has continued to work on making our website. I have started to create our mobile website based off of our desktop website. We have been communicating very well over our group chat page that was created for us to communicate easier. We have just started creating our presentation, but I believe we will be able to have a great presentation by the time our team has to present. Our group has done a good job working together on this project with the time we have to work on it. I feel like we are moving along very well with the time we still have to work on this project.

Progress Report 4/11 Ashtyn

Design for the website continued today! I changed out the song of the week and I found a way to link our playlists to the website, with the use of buttons! I started filling out the buttons, putting which genre would link to the button! I think we're getting really close to finally wrapping this project up! I'll spend a large portion of the weekend finishing the buttons and helping to create playlists so we can focus on the presentation soon! The attached picture is of the new layout for the playlist page

Today in computer lit, I posted in our group chat and suggest to add country music to our list. I also asked what the login information is for groove shark for our group. I looked at other music that we could possibly add to our playlist. I was also able to get on weebly today after asking for access.

Progress Report 4/4 Ashtyn

Today I got onto our official website! (It's a relief to finally be able to say that) Haste came up with a great idea to divide our group into "teams". I'm on the design page team with Jackie and Brandi! I played around with different colors and styles for the website and changed some images. I thought it would be cool to have a "video of the week" on our homepage, so I looked at the top 100 songs on iTunes and embedded that video into our website. It will be fun to change that out weekly, and hopefully everyone else likes the idea! We're working on getting everyone onto our website to edit it, but I think we got that figured out, so hopefully everyone has an idea of how to get this project really going! The picture is our home page with the "Video of the Week"!

03/28/14

Last week, Hastings decided what people should do. I choose to do the Playlist creating process. I have to go to Grooveshark.com to create an account and create a playlist. I will not put songs in the playlist because I don't know what kind of songs my group wants to include. I also need to go to the website weebly.com to create an account. I an not sure why we need to create an account for weebly.

Progress Report 3/28 Ashtyn

Today I got on Weebly and familiarized myself with the site. It looks like we're going to use that for the final website, and I've never used it before! I read some tutorials and I created a poll for favorite kind of music. I think Haste has the official site, so once everyone makes a Weebly account, we're all going to link on to the official site and start really putting it all together! Hopefully we can put together a sort of outline for what should go on the website so everyone knows kind of what they can be doing with their time. The attachment is a screenshot of part of the poll I made. I looked up all the different genres of music there are, and there was more than I had anticipated! I think everything's starting to come together; I'm excited to see what everyone has to say in the later periods!

Computer Lit 3/28/14

Today in Computer Lit I posted on our group chat. I made a suggestion about creating a sample playlist. I figured if we made a sample, we could see what it would be like to share on the website that we choose. I went onto my Grooveshark account and created a Pop playlist. Basically it has a handful of songs that have been on the radio, released, or popular to students lately. I also created a Weebly.com account, now I am just waiting to be shared in as a collaborator by my group members.
